The Light

Happy New Year!

When looking back on the year that just finished, it may seem like there was a lot of darkness.

The way things are going, it may seem like there's a lot of darkness ahead.

But fret not.

The light shines on!

Darkness has not mastered it!

Darkness WILL NOT master it.

THE LIGHT will shine on!

Doorway

It's always darkest before the dawn and it's quiet and dark in the dormitory. Yet, light seeps through the doorway of one student. Did she pull an all-nighter to cram for a test or did she get up early to spend time with God. The light beckons you to come and you knock on the door...

God's Word has an open door policy. It's always there waiting for you. The light is always on welcoming you. You don't need to be a member of the clergy to learn from it. You don't need a degree in theology to become wise from it. You just need to open the door...

Light

God's Word shines light into our lives.

A light to guide use.

A light of revelation.

A light to keep us from harm.

A light to guide our steps.

If we refuse to open our eyes, we can not see the light.

If we run off on our own, thinking we know the better way, we may find the path darkened.

But God's Word remains a beacon to guide us back to where we should be.

Open your eyes.

Open your heart.

Walk in the light.

Leave A Light On

Again we see that the excellent wife is a hard worker and a careful planner. I am reminded of the parable of the virgins waiting for the bridegroom. Some of them don't have enough oil for their lamps and they miss the arrival of the bridegroom because they ran out of oil and had to go buy more. The excellent wife is like those virgins who were prepared and had enough oil. Are you prepared for the Bridegroom's coming?
